THE LAUNDRY FILES (Warning! Readers Advisory!)

Well, friends, its time for us to finally bring the Summer...I mean SEASONS...of Lovecraft to a close. We've been on a long ride these last 8 episodes, looking at various flicks from Lovecraftian film canon. To close things off, lets take a look at a series of novels, shall we? Thus we present the 9th, and final, installment of our little tale of woe as we crack open...

DRIVE ANGRY (Better Off Read)

Y'know what? Lovecraft isn't scary enough for Halloween. No, instead we need to take a film that most WOULDN'T consider a horror movie and try to suss out its hellish aspects to reveal the frightfest within. So I present for the approval of the Midnight Society this, the Halloween special (originally aired on Halloween, being posted here, sadly, on November 1st) of Chasing the Muse...

TUCKER & DALE VS EVIL (Better Off Read)

We take a break from the Summer of Lovecraft to talk about a little horror-comedy film called...

                                            TUCKER & DALE VERSUS EVIL

DAGON (Warning! Readers Advisory!)

The Summer of Lovecraft continues with another film by Stuart Gordon and Brian Yuzna. This time its a fish-tastic feeding frenzy as we take a look at the horrific, unsightly, and down right WEIRD film called...

IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS (Warning! Readers Advisory!)

The Summer of Lovecraft continues with a classic film from John Carpenter. This little diddy isn't BASED on one of Lovecraft's stories, but is instead inspired by the whole of them.

This review also has a segment filmed at ConBravo 2012, and features a number of participants and guests. A huge thanks to the folks there; they were incredibly accommodating.
Anyway, this week's review is called:

WITCH HUNT (Warning! Readers Advisory!)

The Summer of Lovecraft continues with more shenanigans as we take a look at the infamous SEQUEL to last episode's "Cast a Deadly Spell". Replacing Fred Ward with Dennis Hopper, and using Julian Sands and Eric Bogosian as the villains, one must wonder: Does this film rise to the challenge of its predecessor...or should it be tossed on the concrete like a private eye's well smoked cigarette?

(Hint: The answer is that it sucks) Hold onto your hats, kids, this is...

CAST A DEADLY SPELL (Warning! Readers Advisory!)

Welcome back, friends, to the Summer of Lovecraft. For the next three months I'll be reviewing movies and books based on the work of HP Lovecraft, and providing a humorous running commentary.

This week I have a movie I've promised to review for a while now. I finally got to it. It has a surprisingly all star cast (Fred Ward, David Warner, Clancy Brown, Julianne Moore, etc.), and is actually a pretty decent film. PLUS the review has a quick cameo from the Nostalgia Critic shot at ConBravo 2012, so everything is pretty awesome there. What movie is this, you ask? Why its...
